Vegan Hotels Ontario compares five worthwhile stays beyond Toronto and Ottawa, each with current evidence of plant-based meals. The route spans a country spa east of Toronto, a historic mill in Caledon, two waterside resorts near Muskoka and Georgian Bay, and a Victorian bed-and-breakfast in the Thousand Islands.
None is fully vegan or vegetarian. Some provide labelled dishes every day; others accommodate vegan meals only with advance notice. Every kitchen also handles animal products, so communicate dietary requirements before arrival and reconfirm ingredients, breakfast details and cross-contact at check-in.
HOTEL 01 · VERY VEGAN-FRIENDLY
Ste. Anne’s Spa
An all-inclusive country-spa stay where breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner can all be adapted for vegan guests.
Ste. Anne’s Spa sits on 500 acres in Grafton, around 90 minutes east of Toronto and close to the Lake Ontario shore. Overnight packages combine accommodation with meals, spa and wellness allowances and access to hydrotherapy pools, steam rooms, saunas, gardens and trails. Main Inn rooms and several cottage styles suit solo wellness breaks, couples and small groups.
The property states that the majority of its breakfast, lunch and four-course dinner menu can be modified for a vegan diet. Current menus also contain dishes explicitly marked “VE”: lunch includes a Mezze Platter with falafel, red-pepper hummus, tomato-cucumber salad and vegan feta, plus a Masala Curry with vegetables, basmati, tempeh and chickpeas. Dinner offers Thai Curry with coconut sauce and tofu, while dessert includes a Vegan Mocha Semifreddo. Afternoon tea has labelled chickpea and hummus savouries, although the complete tier should be arranged separately.
Meals are available only to registered spa guests and are scheduled as part of the stay. Declare vegan requirements while booking so every included course—not just the dishes named above—can be coordinated in advance.
- Classification: Very vegan-friendly; all-inclusive wellness inn with a mixed kitchen.
- Vegan highlight: Labelled vegan lunch, dinner, dessert and afternoon-tea items, plus explicit modification of most meals.
- Location: 1009 Massey Road, Grafton; rural Northumberland County about 90 minutes east of Toronto.
- Sustainability: No plastic water bottles, on-site spring-water stations, herbicide-free grounds, 1,000 trees planted, water-efficient laundry and recyclable or compostable packaging initiatives.
- Best for: Wellness weekends, solo resets, couples and travellers who want several meals organised in one stay.
HOTEL 02 · VEGAN-FRIENDLY
Millcroft Inn & Spa
A romantic Caledon mill retreat with clearly labelled vegan choices at breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Millcroft Inn & Spa occupies a historic mill complex beside Shaw’s Creek Falls in the village of Alton. Its 100-acre setting, spa and outdoor hot-spring pools make it an easy country escape from Toronto, while the trails, farms and villages of the Caledon Hills are close by.
Headwaters Restaurant defines “V” as a vegan dish. At breakfast, the Frittata is marked vegan and comes with baby kale, asparagus and plant-based feta; a parfait uses organic vegan yoghurt. Lunch lists Sweet Potato Gnudi with plant-based mozzarella, and the current dinner menu includes an Iced Kohlrabi Thread Salad with plant-based feta and a Black Bean & Quinoa Cake with vegetables, tofu crémeux and smoked avocado oil.
One menu item elsewhere carries a vegan marker despite listing goat cheese, so do not rely on symbols alone. The dishes described here have plant-based ingredient lists, but still confirm the current recipe and shared-kitchen preparation when ordering.
- Classification: Vegan-friendly; historic inn and mixed fine-dining restaurant.
- Vegan highlight: Vegan-labelled frittata, sweet-potato gnudi, kohlrabi salad and black-bean quinoa cake across the day.
- Location: 55 John Street, Alton; beside Shaw’s Creek Falls in the Caledon countryside.
- Sustainability: Seasonal Ontario ingredients and adaptive reuse of a historic mill are documented; no current property-specific environmental certification was found.
- Best for: Romantic spa breaks, anniversaries, autumn weekends and short escapes from Toronto.
HOTEL 03 · VEGAN-FRIENDLY
Bayview Wildwood Resort
A traditional all-inclusive lakeside resort that promises a vegetarian or vegan main on every nightly dinner menu.
Bayview Wildwood Resort sits on Sparrow Lake at Severn Bridge, on the southern edge of Muskoka. Rooms, suites and cottages combine with lake activities, indoor and outdoor pools and a broad family programme. It is best suited to travellers arriving by car and planning to spend most of the stay on the property.
The resort currently states that every three-course dinner lineup includes a vegetarian or vegan main, alongside its meat and fish choices. Breakfast and lunch are served as buffets or à la carte, but the public pages do not document a specific vegan breakfast. Contact the dining team before booking an inclusive package to confirm the exact plant-based dinner for each night and what breakfast and lunch can be prepared.
This is a useful rural option because the vegan dinner commitment is recurring rather than tied to a single event. It is still a mixed buffet and restaurant environment, so guests with strict cross-contact needs should ask how the vegan meal is cooked and served.
- Classification: Vegan-friendly; conventional all-inclusive resort with mixed buffets and menus.
- Vegan highlight: A vegetarian or vegan main promised on every nightly three-course dinner menu.
- Location: 1500 Port Stanton Parkway, Severn Bridge; on Sparrow Lake at the gateway to Muskoka.
- Sustainability: No current property-specific third-party environmental certification or detailed programme was found; ask the resort about current waste and lake-protection measures.
- Best for: Families, cottages, lake activities and travellers who prefer an inclusive resort format.
HOTEL 04 · VEGAN ON REQUEST
Rawley Resort, Spa & Marina
A small Port Severn marina resort where Booking.com documents vegan breakfast and restaurant options, but the current public menu should be confirmed.
Rawley Resort is set on the Trent–Severn Waterway at Port Severn, with suites, a marina, spa and seasonal outdoor pool. The location works for boating, Georgian Bay day trips and a slower waterside break; a car remains the practical way to explore beyond the property.
The current Booking.com listing states that the restaurant serves local cuisine with vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free choices and that vegan breakfast options are available. The resort’s own Lighthouse45 pages emphasise seasonal, local farm-to-table cooking, but do not publish a dependable fixed vegan dish at present. Contact the kitchen before arrival, request the vegan breakfast explicitly and ask what dinner can be prepared on the selected dates.
Rawley belongs in the guide as an advance-request option rather than a menu-led recommendation. It is most appropriate for flexible diners who are comfortable arranging meals directly.
- Classification: Vegan on request; mixed resort restaurant with vegan options stated on its current Booking.com listing.
- Vegan highlight: Vegan breakfast and restaurant availability, subject to pre-arrival confirmation of the exact dishes.
- Location: 2900 Kellys Road, Port Severn; on the Trent–Severn Waterway near Georgian Bay.
- Sustainability: Lighthouse45 describes local seasonal sourcing and a closed-loop, low-waste approach where possible; no current third-party property certification was found.
- Best for: Marina stays, couples, spa time and Georgian Bay road trips.
HOTEL 05 · VEGAN BREAKFAST ON REQUEST
1000 Islands B&B – The Bulloch House
A characterful Victorian bed-and-breakfast in Gananoque with vegan breakfast listed among its available dietary formats.
The Bulloch House is a restored Victorian mansion in Gananoque, the principal Canadian gateway to the Thousand Islands. Its individually styled rooms suit travellers who prefer historic inns to large hotels, while boat cruises, the waterfront and the compact town centre are close at hand.
Booking.com currently lists vegan among the property’s breakfast options, alongside vegetarian, gluten-free and other dietary formats. The inn’s own website describes a generous gourmet breakfast but does not publish the precise vegan dishes or ingredients. State the requirement at the time of reservation, then confirm what will be served and whether advance notice is needed for every morning of the stay.
Because this is a very small property, personal communication is an advantage but availability may be limited. It is a sensible eastern-Ontario stop, not evidence of a dedicated vegan kitchen.
- Classification: Vegan breakfast on request; small mixed-kitchen bed-and-breakfast.
- Vegan highlight: Vegan breakfast explicitly listed on Booking.com, with the exact menu to be arranged in advance.
- Location: 199 Pine Street, Gananoque; useful for Thousand Islands cruises and an eastern-Ontario road trip.
- Sustainability: Adaptive reuse preserves a large Victorian residence; no current property-specific environmental certification was found.
- Best for: Historic character, personal hosting, couples and Thousand Islands sightseeing.
Choosing a vegan-friendly hotel in Ontario
Ste. Anne’s Spa has the most complete vegan meal framework, Millcroft Inn & Spa offers the strongest labelled à-la-carte range, Bayview Wildwood Resort suits family lake holidays, Rawley Resort works for an arranged marina stay, and The Bulloch House is the intimate Thousand Islands choice.
For the province’s largest city, use the separate Vegan Hotels Toronto guide. You can also return to the Vegan Hotels Canada hub, continue west with the Manitoba guide, or continue east with the Québec guide.
Hotel, menu and sustainability information was checked against current official property pages and Booking.com listings on August 25, 2026. Menus, dietary labels, certifications, ownership and availability can change. All featured kitchens handle animal products; reconfirm ingredients, allergens and cross-contact directly before booking or dining.
