Vegan Hotels Zurich compares three conventional hotels with documented plant-based food and independently supported sustainability credentials. The Dolder Grand provides the most ambitious luxury dining, Sorell Boutique-Hotel Seidenhof Zürich combines a highly central address with an award-winning sustainability certification, and 25hours Hotel Langstrasse suits design-focused travellers who want vegan choices near the main station and nightlife.
None is a vegan hotel. Each operates mixed kitchens or buffets containing animal-derived food, and no property documents a separate vegan preparation area. “Vegan-friendly” applies only to the specific options described below. Menus, ingredients and opening periods can change; confirm breakfast provision, restaurant availability, cross-contact controls and allergy requirements directly before booking.
HOTEL 01 · VEGAN-FRIENDLY
The Dolder Grand – City and Spa Resort Zurich
The luxury choice for a spa break and destination dining, with seasonal fully plant-based dishes and vegan provision documented across several hotel venues.
The five-star city resort stands at Kurhausstrasse 65 on the forested Zürichberg, above the centre with views towards the city, lake and Alps. The Dolderbahn links the hillside to Römerhof and the tram network, while the hotel also offers a shuttle. A 4,000-square-metre spa and extensive art collection make this a resort-style stay rather than a walk-everywhere Old Town base.
The hotel describes blooms as serving vegetarian and vegan creations made with organic, regional and seasonal produce, some grown in its own kitchen garden. Its current FAQ is more precise: blooms serves fully plant-based dishes; The Restaurant can prepare vegan options with advance notice; and Saltz and Canvas Bar & Lounge can advise on suitable choices. Mikuriya does not provide a vegan menu, and blooms operates only from 21 May to the end of September 2026, in dry weather, with Tuesday and Wednesday closures.
Dolder Hotel AG reports EarthCheck Gold certification and Swisstainable Level III – leading, both stronger evidence than unverified green claims. Its sustainability programme includes 70 geothermal probes, a system reported to have halved energy consumption despite doubled usable space, plus food-waste planning and lower-impact mobility options. This remains a large luxury resort with a substantial operational footprint, so the certifications indicate audited management and improvement rather than an impact-free stay.
- Classification: Vegan-friendly; conventional five-star resort with mixed restaurants and breakfast service.
- Vegan highlight: Fully plant-based dishes at seasonal blooms, plus vegan provision at selected year-round venues.
- Location: Kurhausstrasse 65 on the forested Zürichberg, connected to the tram network by the Dolderbahn.
- Sustainability: EarthCheck Gold and Swisstainable Level III – leading, geothermal energy, food-waste planning and car-light transport options.
- Best for: Luxury spa breaks, special occasions, elevated city views and seasonal plant-based fine dining.
HOTEL 02 · VEGAN-FRIENDLY
Sorell Boutique-Hotel Seidenhof Zürich
The strongest central all-rounder, pairing a Bahnhofstrasse location with explicitly documented vegan dishes and an independently awarded platinum sustainability label.
Seidenhof is at Sihlstrasse 9, just off Bahnhofstrasse in central District 1. Zürich Hauptbahnhof, Rennweg, the Old Town, Limmat river and major shopping streets are readily accessible on foot or by tram. Its 78-room boutique format and secluded Enja Garden provide a calmer counterpoint to the busy commercial centre, making the hotel particularly practical for a short first visit without a car.
The hotel’s on-site Restaurant Enja says it serves vegetarian and vegan delicacies alongside fish and meat. Its current summer 2026 menu defines the vegan marker as a recipe containing no animal-derived ingredients and includes marked plant-based dishes and vegan vanilla ice cream. The official Sorell breakfast programme additionally describes vegan baked goods and dairy alternatives. This remains an omnivorous operation: Enja explicitly warns that unintended mixing cannot be completely excluded, so guests with allergies or strict cross-contact requirements should discuss individual dishes and breakfast handling in advance.
Independent certifier ibex fairstay awarded Seidenhof its platinum level and named it Best Overall Performance in 2025 after it achieved the highest score in that certification year. The hotel also states that it is Swisstainable Level III – leading and ISO 14001-compliant. These recognised systems cover broader environmental, social and management performance, while the central, transit-rich location supports a car-free city stay.
- Classification: Vegan-friendly; central boutique hotel with an omnivorous restaurant and mixed breakfast.
- Vegan highlight: Vegan dishes explicitly offered at Restaurant Enja, plus vegan baked goods and dairy alternatives in Sorell’s breakfast programme.
- Location: Sihlstrasse 9 beside Bahnhofstrasse, within easy walking distance of Zürich HB, Rennweg and the Old Town.
- Sustainability: ibex fairstay platinum and Best Overall Performance 2025, plus Swisstainable Level III – leading and ISO 14001 compliance.
- Best for: First-time visitors, central sightseeing, shopping, rail arrivals and independently verified sustainability.
HOTEL 03 · VEGAN-FRIENDLY
25hours Hotel Langstrasse
The design-led choice near Zürich Hauptbahnhof, with credible vegan lunch and dinner dishes at its on-site NENI restaurant and Green Key certification.
The hotel occupies Langstrasse 150 where lively Langstrasse meets the newer Europaallee development in Kreis 4. Zürich Hauptbahnhof is a short, signposted walk away, and the surrounding streets are dense with restaurants, bars, clubs and creative businesses. The setting works well for rail travellers and nightlife, while guests seeking a very quiet neighbourhood may prefer Seidenhof or the hillside Dolder Grand.
NENI, the hotel’s on-site Eastern Mediterranean restaurant, publishes a current menu with several concrete vegan choices. These include an Arayes filled with spiced vegan kebab, plus dishes that can be made vegan using Planted or tofu. Hummus, falafel and vegetable dishes add further possibilities, but ingredients should not be inferred from a dish name alone. NENI also serves meat, fish, dairy and eggs, and the standard hotel breakfast page does not explicitly guarantee a vegan range; this recommendation therefore rests on documented restaurant choices rather than a confirmed comprehensive vegan breakfast.
Current certification data lists 25hours Hotel Langstrasse itself as Green Key certified through 27 May 2027. Green Key uses third-party audits and more than 100 criteria across water, electricity, food and drink, waste, cleaning, staff involvement and guest information. The short walk from Zürich Hauptbahnhof is another practical advantage for a car-light trip, although certification does not establish vegan kitchen controls.
- Classification: Vegan-friendly; design hotel with an omnivorous restaurant and mixed breakfast service.
- Vegan highlight: Current NENI menu includes a vegan-kebab Arayes and dishes convertible with Planted or tofu.
- Location: Langstrasse 150 at Europaallee in Kreis 4, a short walk from Zürich Hauptbahnhof.
- Sustainability: Green Key certification with audited criteria across energy, water, waste, food, cleaning and management.
- Best for: Design, nightlife, rail convenience, short city breaks and documented vegan lunch or dinner choices.
Choosing a vegan-friendly hotel in Zurich
The Dolder Grand is the strongest luxury and spa choice, especially while blooms is operating; Sorell Boutique-Hotel Seidenhof Zürich offers the best balance of central convenience and independently recognised sustainability; and 25hours Hotel Langstrasse is the liveliest design option for rail arrivals and vegan dinner choices.
For meals beyond the hotels, the official Zurich Tourism vegan restaurant guide covers fully plant-based venues and restaurants with vegan food across the city. Listings, menus and opening hours can change, so check the restaurant’s own current information before making a special journey or relying on a particular allergy protocol. The existing Baur au Lac hotel portrait provides an additional luxury-hotel reference without duplicating it as one of this guide’s three selections.
