Vegan Hotels Andalusia compares three distinctive regional stays with plant-based food currently documented by the property or its accommodation listing. The selection moves from a small Mijas hideaway to a full-service beach resort near Sotogrande and a peaceful country hotel below the El Torcal mountains.

None of these properties is a fully vegan or vegetarian hotel. Each operates a mixed kitchen, so “vegan-friendly” refers only to the specific breakfast or restaurant provision described below. Menus and staffing change, and a generic dietary-option label does not guarantee separate preparation. Reconfirm ingredients, plant milk, honey, allergens and cross-contact directly before arrival.

HOTEL 01 · VEGAN-FRIENDLY AT BREAKFAST

CasaBlu

An intimate Andalusian boutique hotel in the hills above the Costa del Sol, with one of the broadest documented breakfast-format choices in this guide.

CasaBlu has 12 individually styled rooms and suites at Finca María de la Luz in Mijas. The official hotel information places it between Málaga and Marbella, a few minutes by car from Fuengirola’s coast. Its garden, outdoor pool, wellness treatments and small scale make it a good choice for a quiet break, although a car is useful for beaches and wider regional sightseeing.

The current Booking.com listing includes vegan breakfast alongside continental, vegetarian, gluten-free and kosher choices, offered in buffet, à la carte or takeaway formats. The on-site Zafir restaurant otherwise serves mixed Mediterranean, seafood and Spanish food, and the hotel does not publish a permanent vegan dish list. Record the vegan request when reserving and ask what the kitchen will prepare on the dates of the stay.

CasaBlu’s own sustainability information documents a greywater system that reuses water from sinks and showers for garden irrigation. The hotel was also created through the careful renovation of a family property rather than a new-build project; no independent property-level environmental certification was verified during this review.

  • Classification: Vegan-friendly at breakfast; mixed boutique hotel and restaurant.
  • Vegan highlight: Vegan breakfast explicitly listed across buffet, à la carte and takeaway formats.
  • Location: Finca María de la Luz, Mijas, between Málaga and Marbella and a short drive from Fuengirola.
  • Sustainability: Greywater from sinks and showers is reused for irrigation; sensitive reuse of an existing family property, with no independent hotel certification confirmed.
  • Best for: Couples, peaceful pool time, Mijas and Costa del Sol road trips.

HOTEL 02 · VEGAN-FRIENDLY

OKU Andalusia

A large beachfront resort at La Alcaidesa with vegan restaurant service, extensive wellness facilities and the broadest range of amenities in this guide.

OKU Andalusia occupies a secluded coastal site close to Sotogrande, San Roque and Los Alcornocales Natural Park. The resort combines rooms and suites with several pools, a 2,000-square-metre spa, sports facilities, children’s spaces and four dining venues. Playa de la Alcaidesa is a short walk away, while a car is practical for exploring Cádiz province and the white villages.

Booking.com currently describes the family-friendly restaurant as serving Japanese and Mediterranean food with vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free and dairy-free options. The hotel’s official dining page adds that its venues use fresh, locally sourced ingredients, but it does not publish a stable vegan menu for every restaurant. Ask which venue is serving the strongest vegan breakfast, lunch and dinner choices during the stay and whether advance notice is required.

An independent sustainable-hotel profile documents operational measures including carbon monitoring, air-conditioning cut-off when doors or windows are open, LED lighting, the removal of single-use plastic, water-use tracking and low-water planting. These are useful property-specific measures, but they should not be read as a vegan certification.

  • Classification: Vegan-friendly; mixed resort with several mixed restaurants.
  • Vegan highlight: Vegan choices explicitly documented within the resort’s Japanese and Mediterranean restaurant service.
  • Location: La Alcaidesa on the Cádiz coast, near Sotogrande, San Roque and Playa de la Alcaidesa.
  • Sustainability: Documented carbon and water tracking, efficient lighting and cooling controls, reduced single-use plastic and climate-appropriate planting.
  • Best for: Beach holidays, families, spa time and travellers wanting a full resort rather than a simple room base.

HOTEL 03 · VEGAN-FRIENDLY AT BREAKFAST

La Posada del Torcal

A tranquil countryside hotel below El Torcal with a vegan breakfast option, panoramic mountain views and an adults-oriented atmosphere.

La Posada del Torcal stands among olive and almond groves outside Villanueva de la Concepción, around 50 minutes from Málaga. At approximately 720 metres above sea level, the restored finca looks across the surrounding mountains and countryside and provides a strong base for El Torcal, Antequera, hiking and cycling. The hotel does not accept children under 16.

The current Booking.com listing explicitly includes vegan breakfast alongside continental, vegetarian and gluten-free choices. The owners also prepare mixed Spanish dinners, but the public hotel pages do not identify a fixed vegan evening menu. Treat breakfast as the verified plant-based service and contact the small property in advance if dinner is important, especially for a multi-night stay.

The finca was extensively restored between 2014 and 2017 using reclaimed materials and retained antique architectural features. Hiking and road- or e-bike routes begin in the surrounding landscape; no current independent environmental certification was found.

  • Classification: Vegan-friendly at breakfast; mixed country hotel and kitchen.
  • Vegan highlight: Vegan breakfast is explicitly listed; dinner requires advance confirmation.
  • Location: Partido de Jeva, Villanueva de la Concepción, below El Torcal and approximately 50 minutes from Málaga.
  • Sustainability: Restoration of an existing finca with reclaimed materials, plus direct hiking and cycling access; no property-level ecolabel confirmed.
  • Best for: Couples, mountain scenery, hiking, cycling and slow countryside stays.
