Vietnam city guide · Research checked 17 September 2026
A bowl of vegan pho before a day out, a proper plant-based dinner and a comfortable place to return to: these are useful starting points when comparing vegan-friendly hotels in Ho Chi Minh City, also known as Saigon. Our shortlist brings together Park Hyatt Saigon, The Reverie Saigon and Sofitel Saigon Plaza. Each has operator-published food information that goes beyond a vague promise of vegetarian options. [2] [5] [8]
Which Saigon hotel should you shortlist?
Our first pick for clearly documented breakfast and dinner choices is Park Hyatt Saigon. Compare The Reverie Saigon for breakfast dishes that can be adapted, and Sofitel Saigon Plaza for explicitly offered vegan versions of in-room dishes. The important difference is whether a dish is already vegan or needs a specific request; the profiles explain both.

Park Hyatt and Sofitel buttons lead to matched property listings; The Reverie button opens a labelled hotel-name search. No dates or meal packages are preselected by us.
Three vegan-friendly Saigon hotels at a glance
Choose your base around the trip you want
Park Hyatt is at 2 Lam Son Square, beside the Opera House area. The Reverie occupies the Times Square building, with addresses on Nguyen Hue Boulevard and Dong Khoi Street. Sofitel Saigon Plaza is at 17 Le Duan Boulevard. All three give you a central-city starting point, but their exact addresses matter when planning evenings and arrival arrangements. [1] [4] [7]
For a short city break, our suggestion is to compare a breakfast-inclusive rate with the mornings you will actually use it. For a slower visit, give more weight to the room and the facilities where you expect to spend time. Avoid paying for a meal package before the hotel has explained its vegan choices.
Our vegan-friendly hotel shortlist
Stay 01 · Explicit vegan breakfast · Plant-based dinner choices
Park Hyatt Saigon
Location: 2 Lam Son Square
Consider it for: a central hotel with concrete options for more than one meal
Park Hyatt combines rooms and suites with a 20-metre outdoor pool, Xuan Spa and several dining spaces. It is an appealing option to compare when the hotel itself is part of the holiday rather than simply somewhere to sleep. Opera and Square One are separate restaurants, so make meal arrangements with the right venue. [1]
Opera's July 2026 breakfast menu names a vegan Vietnamese pho, using vegetable broth. That provides a clearly identified cooked start to the day. Read other healthy-looking dishes individually: the coconut-yogurt bowl also lists bee pollen, so its yogurt does not make the whole bowl vegan without adjustment. [2]
For later meals, Square One's July 2026 menu has a dedicated plant-based section with a vegan legend. Examples include a tofu clay pot with vegan XO sauce and vegetable glass noodles. This makes it possible to plan a restaurant meal around named dishes instead of relying only on side orders. [3]
Our suggested approach is to settle breakfast first, then reserve one dinner separately. Ask whether your selected breakfast rate covers the dish you want and whether the current dinner menu matches the published selection. For several nights, request a few additional breakfast ideas rather than assuming the whole buffet is suitable.
Stay 02 · Café Cardinal · Request the vegan preparation
The Reverie Saigon
Location: Times Square building, Nguyen Hue Boulevard / Dong Khoi Street
Consider it for: a hotel-led city break with meals arranged at Café Cardinal
Café Cardinal, on the sixth floor, serves breakfast through a combination of buffet and à-la-carte choices. Its menus are a useful reason to investigate The Reverie, but the dietary symbols need careful reading: VG covers either a vegan dish or one for which vegan preparation is available. It does not mean that every marked dish arrives vegan without asking. [4] [5]
The breakfast examples illustrate this distinction. A grain-and-vegetable Power Bowl includes a poached egg in its standard description, while the chia porridge lists honey. Both carry VG markings. Request the vegan versions explicitly, including the omissions, rather than simply pointing to the dish name. [5]
The currently linked all-day menu also marks a turmeric curry with vegetables and tofu skin as VG. That gives you a concrete lunch or dinner enquiry as well as a breakfast plan. Ask the team to confirm the preparation under its combined vegan/adaptable legend. [6]
Our suggestion is to put the food request alongside the room enquiry, naming Café Cardinal and the meals you expect to use. For a celebration, agree the dinner before relying on a room-and-dining package. Keep the restaurant confirmation separate from the accommodation booking so the included dishes and any supplement remain clear.
Stay 03 · Explicit vegan-on-request options · Le Duan Boulevard
Sofitel Saigon Plaza
Location: 17 Le Duan Boulevard
Consider it for: a conventional city hotel with specified dishes to discuss in advance
Sofitel's dining collection includes Mezz and Le 17 Bistro, alongside other venues. The vegan evidence used here comes specifically from its in-room dining menu, rather than a claim that every restaurant or buffet is plant-based. Choose the serving venue as carefully as the dish. [7]
The menu offers vegan preparation on request for pho and vegetable fried rice. The standard fried rice contains egg, making the vegan request an important change. The document is dated August 2024 and was still linked by the hotel's dining page when checked in September 2026; it is not a newly issued 2026 menu. [8]
Use those named options as the starting point for a fresh enquiry. Ask whether the kitchen can serve them at breakfast, through room service or in a restaurant, and which arrangement your chosen rate covers. In-room dining availability does not automatically establish inclusion in a buffet breakfast.
This is our practical alternative for travellers who are comfortable making a specific request before arrival. For an early flight or a late check-in, confirm service at the time you need it. Avoid building the entire stay around one menu dish until the hotel has reconfirmed it.
Vegan breakfast in Saigon: check the whole order
Choose a complete breakfast
Ask for a substantial main dish, suitable accompaniments and the drink you want. Confirm broth, sauces, cooking fat and toppings, not just the visible vegetables. For coffee, specify the plant drink rather than leaving the milk choice implicit.
Match food to your schedule
Compare the serving time with your first outing. An early departure needs its own request, and a room-service order may be charged differently from breakfast in a restaurant. A good menu is only useful when the meal fits your actual day.
A simple plan before you book
Start with the hotel address, your room requirements and the meals you expect to eat on site. Then ask for a concrete food proposal. For a two-night stop, dependable breakfasts and one planned dinner may be enough; leave other meals flexible around the days out you choose.
We eat vegan, without meat, fish, seafood, fish sauce, oyster sauce, animal stock, dairy, eggs, honey or bee pollen. Please describe a complete breakfast and a suitable dinner for our dates. Which restaurant serves them, what needs to be requested in advance, and what is included in our chosen room rate?
Keep the reply with your reservation. Compare the complete cost, including breakfast supplements and cancellation conditions, rather than a room-only headline. Describe any allergy separately instead of treating a vegan request as an allergy arrangement.
Vegan-friendly hotels in Ho Chi Minh City: FAQ
Are these hotels completely vegan?
No. They are mixed-dining hotels with documented vegan choices or adaptations. The guide does not certify their entire kitchens, room materials or amenities.
Which hotel has a clearly named vegan breakfast dish?
Park Hyatt's Opera menu names a vegan Vietnamese pho. Check the current choice and whether it belongs to your selected breakfast rate. [2]
What does VG mean at Café Cardinal?
Its legend combines dishes that are vegan with dishes that can be prepared vegan. Ask for the vegan version explicitly, especially when the description includes egg or honey. [5]
Is Sofitel's vegan in-room menu newly published?
No. The linked document is dated August 2024. Its vegan-on-request wording is useful evidence, but the kitchen should reconfirm the options for your stay. [8]
Does the Booking.com button reserve a vegan package?
No. It opens a property listing or the clearly labelled hotel-name search. Select the correct property and rate, then agree the meals separately with the hotel.
