Greece regional hotel guide · reviewed 10 September 2026

Looking for vegan hotels in Santorini and Mykonos? This Cyclades guide brings together three properties from our original Greece collection: Ethos Vegan Suites in Fira, MOD Santorini and Koukoumi Vegan Boutique Hotel in Ano Mera on Mykonos. All three describe a vegan hospitality concept, but the way you eat and spend your days differs. Compare a small suite stay, an adults-only boutique base and a hotel with a full plant-based restaurant offer. The existing hotel photographs are retained in the matching profiles below.

Santorini or Mykonos for a vegan hotel stay?

Start with Ethos for a small Fira base and homemade vegan breakfast, MOD for an adults-only Santorini stay with an included three-course breakfast, or Koukoumi for plant-based breakfast, lunch and dinner in Ano Mera. The two islands are separate destinations: choose one for a shorter holiday, or plan distinct stays when combining them. [K1] [K2] [K3]

Scope: this is a focused Cyclades shortlist for Santorini and Mykonos, not a guide to every island in the group. Ethos here means Ethos Vegan Suites Fira, not the separate Imerovigli accommodation. Hotel photographs show particular spaces or room examples, not a guaranteed view from every category.

Booking.com buttons are affiliate links. A qualifying reservation may earn Vegan Lifestyle a commission at no extra cost to you. Buttons marked “Search” open hotel-name results, not a confirmed room offer. Check your dates, room category and meal inclusions before reserving.

Quick comparison: three vegan stays

Choose the island and the exact hotel setting

Fira: Ethos Vegan Suites

Ethos gives its address as Fira on Santorini. Use the Fira property name when comparing bookings and room photographs; the operator also presents separate accommodation in Imerovigli. For a short stay, a breakfast-led base can leave room for an unhurried day exploring beyond the hotel. [K1] [K4]

MOD Santorini: a different boutique-stay format

MOD markets vegan accommodation in the Fira area and describes an adults-only setting. Some categories are garden apartments with kitchens and laundry facilities, while others offer different balcony or hot-tub arrangements. Choose the room for the way you expect to use it, not just its name. [K2]

Ano Mera: Koukoumi’s Mykonos base

Koukoumi’s address is Ano Mera on Mykonos. Do not treat that as accommodation beside the Mykonos Town waterfront. It is particularly relevant when you want the hotel’s plant-based restaurant to form part of the holiday, rather than using the room only as a place to sleep. [K3] [K5]

Ethos Vegan Suites

Location: Fira, Santorini
Best fit: A small suite stay with a homemade plant-based breakfast

Ethos describes vegan hospitality in the heart of Fira, with a homemade plant-based breakfast at the centre of the morning. The operator explains that the selection changes, typically combining a sweet and a savoury item with homemade jams and spreads. This provides a clearer food starting point than a conventional hotel promising to remove eggs and cheese from a standard plate. [K1]

The accommodation is a small collection of suites. Compare the particular suite and outdoor space you are considering, and distinguish a patio, balcony or rooftop arrangement from the view you hope to have. The Ethos brand also presents an Imerovigli property, which must not be confused with this Fira listing or its photographs. [K4]

Our reason to retain Ethos is its explicit vegan concept and breakfast-led format. It can work well for travellers who want a dependable start to the day before spending time elsewhere on Santorini. Ask about any additional food experience organised by the hosts; the operator invites enquiries about bespoke meals, but that is not the same as an included daily dinner service. [K1]

The photographs are the original Ethos images from our authorised Greece collection. We have kept them beside the Ethos profile, without treating the outside space shown as a facility belonging to MOD or Koukoumi. Use the room description to check which features accompany the actual reservation.

Food evidence: Operator-described vegan hospitality and homemade vegan breakfast. Confirm extra meals and the exact Fira suite.

Stay 02 · Original Greece collection · adults-only

MOD Santorini Vegan Boutique Hotel

Location: Fira area, Santorini
Best fit: Adults choosing a boutique stay with a substantial vegan breakfast

MOD presents itself as an adults-only vegan accommodation concept. Its current website describes a three-course plant-based breakfast included in the room rate, with a changing selection across the week. That is an appealing format when you prefer a served morning meal to sorting suitable items from a mixed buffet. Confirm the arrangement attached to the offer you actually select. [K2]

Room categories differ materially. Epsilon and Zeta are described as garden apartments with self-contained kitchens and private laundry facilities; other suites have different balcony, rooftop or hot-tub features. Do not infer that every room includes a private hot tub, or that a shared rooftop photograph shows your own terrace. [K2]

The operator also offers a vegan picnic experience by arrangement. That can be a useful idea for a special evening or a day organised around time outdoors, but it is separate from the routine breakfast description. Request timing, location and charges rather than assuming the experience comes with every stay. [K6]

We have retained the MOD photographs from the original Greece coverage. The new profile uses the operator’s current adults-only positioning and room distinctions, rather than repeating contradictory classifications or unrelated captions in older material. Our practical suggestion is to compare the breakfast, exact room and any planned extras as one clear package.

Food evidence: Official vegan concept and included three-course breakfast statement. Room features and picnic arrangements vary.

Stay 03 · Original Greece collection · vegan hotel

Koukoumi Vegan Boutique Hotel

Location: Ano Mera, Mykonos
Best fit: A hotel-centred holiday with a full plant-based restaurant offer

Koukoumi is the Mykonos option from our original article. Its restaurant explicitly describes a fully plant-based approach and publishes breakfast, lunch and dinner services. The current food offer includes more than a single vegan main, making it a different proposition from the breakfast-led Santorini stays. [K3]

The restaurant also explains that references to animal foods in its dish names describe plant-based interpretations. That matters when a menu uses familiar terms such as cheese or eggs: here the operator expressly clarifies its vegan approach. This should not be generalised to menus at unrelated hotels. [K3]

The hotel is in Ano Mera and offers distinct suite categories alongside a pool, spa and fitness facilities. Treat the selected suite as its own product. A private pool or hot tub attached to one category does not describe every room, and dinner at the hotel is not automatically included in any accommodation rate. [K5]

Our editorial reason to compare Koukoumi is the combination of a vegan hotel identity and a restaurant-led stay on Mykonos. It can suit travellers who want to spend meaningful time at the property, with outings arranged around it. Confirm the meals, restaurant reservations and any special tasting experience separately. The pool and suite photographs are the existing authorised Koukoumi images, not photographs of a Santorini hotel.

Food evidence: Operator-published fully plant-based restaurant offer with breakfast, lunch and dinner; confirm rate inclusions.

Compare breakfast-led stays with full restaurant dining

Compare what is included

For Ethos and MOD, start with the breakfast and decide how often you expect to eat elsewhere. At Koukoumi, ask which restaurant meals are included in your selected rate. A vegan concept simplifies ingredient planning, but does not tell you whether lunch, dinner or a tasting experience is part of the room price.

A message for the hotel

Send your dates and the room or package you are considering, then ask for a specific reply.

We would like a vegan stay for these dates. Please confirm the breakfast included in our rate, options and charges for other meals, and any restaurant reservations needed. Could you also confirm the exact room, private outdoor space and arrival arrangements?

Plan Santorini and Mykonos as separate stays

For a short break, one island and one well-chosen base can leave more time for the holiday itself. For a longer trip combining Santorini and Mykonos, arrange the transport and accommodation dates together rather than assuming a particular ferry operates every day. This article does not verify current sailing or flight schedules.

Match the room to the part of the day you will spend there. A kitchen-equipped apartment serves a different purpose from a suite chosen mainly for its outside space. Leave time to enjoy a breakfast you have selected deliberately, and ask about alternatives on an early departure morning.

The Cyclades title organises these three stays into a regional guide; it does not make them an exhaustive list for the island group or a verified ranking by Google search volume. The country overview remains the starting point for the wider Greece collection.

Vegan hotel questions, answered

Which islands does this Cyclades guide cover?

Santorini and Mykonos. Ethos and MOD are the Santorini stays, while Koukoumi is in Ano Mera on Mykonos. Other Cycladic islands are outside this shortlist.

Are all three hotels from the earlier Greece article?

Yes. Ethos Vegan Suites, MOD Santorini and Koukoumi were already included. Their existing hotel photographs are reused in the matching profiles with permission.

Does this guide feature Ethos Fira or Ethos Imerovigli?

Ethos Vegan Suites Fira. The two locations should not be interchanged when checking room photographs, addresses or booking results. [K4]

Is MOD Santorini family-friendly?

The operator currently describes MOD as adults-only. Check the booking conditions for your party rather than relying on older classifications. [K2]

Is Koukoumi on Santorini?

No. Koukoumi is in Ano Mera on Mykonos. Its pool photograph must not be interpreted as a view from either Santorini hotel. [K5]

Does a vegan hotel booking include every meal?

Not automatically. MOD describes an included breakfast, while other meals and experiences have their own arrangements. Ask each property to confirm precisely what is included in the selected rate.
