Colombia city guide · El Poblado stays · research checked 14 September 2026

Searching for vegan-friendly hotels in Medellín? This guide compares three El Poblado properties with different food evidence: Binn Hotel publishes an advance-request vegan dining offer, Wake BioHotel has platform-listed vegan breakfast, and Café Hotel has vegan restaurant options recorded by Booking.com. All three are conventional hotels, not wholly vegan properties. [M1] [M3] [M5]

Which Medellín hotel should you shortlist?

Start with Binn for a planned restaurant meal with adaptations agreed in advance. Compare Wake when breakfast and the hotel's setting fit your priorities, or Café Hotel when its location and an agreed restaurant meal suit your days. The choice depends on the food you can confirm, not the number of facilities in a hotel description.

Read ingredients, not only headings. Binn's dining information includes dishes that require animal ingredients to be replaced or removed. The guide treats these as adaptations on request, not dishes that are already vegan as described. [M1]

Affiliate disclosure: the three Booking.com buttons use our affiliate links to matched hotel property pages. A qualifying reservation may earn Vegan Lifestyle a commission at no extra cost to you. A room booking does not automatically reserve a restaurant table or confirm an included vegan meal.

Three hotels, three food starting points

Choose the actual address, not just the neighbourhood

This shortlist concentrates on El Poblado; it is not a comparison of every Medellín neighbourhood. Binn lists Carrera 25 #10-51 on Transversal Superior, Wake BioHotel lists Calle 2 Sur #25-115, and Café Hotel gives Carrera 31A #11-03. Use the specific address when planning your arrival, outings and return after dinner. [M1] [M4] [M6]

A restaurant-led stay

Our suggestion is to compare Binn and Café Hotel when eating a planned meal on site is part of the experience you want. Ask for the actual course choices and serving times before organising your evening around the hotel.

A breakfast-first approach

Wake's platform breakfast category provides a starting point for an enquiry. Choose the accommodation on the room and location you prefer, then establish a filling vegan breakfast rather than interpreting the hotel's name or wellness positioning as a food guarantee.

Vegan-friendly hotel options in Medellín

Stay 01 · Operator-published adaptations · advance notice required

Binn Hotel

Location: Carrera 25 #10-51, El Poblado
Best fit: a hotel stay with a prearranged dinner at La Makha

Binn's official La Makha dining information says the kitchen can adapt its seven-course tasting menu for vegan guests with three to five days' notice. That is a concrete operator offer to discuss, rather than a deduction from vegetable-led dish names. [M1]

The ingredient details require care. Its orellana mushroom preparation is described with goat-yogurt foam, for which a coconut substitution must be requested. Another corn preparation requires tuna tartare to be removed. We therefore do not repeat the page's broad suggestion that every example is vegan by default. The agreed preparation is what matters. [M1]

Ask the restaurant to confirm every course in the proposed sequence, including sauces and garnishes, and keep that reply with your reservation. Explain how many guests need the vegan version. A restaurant enquiry can be made separately from the room booking; the Booking.com button below reserves accommodation, not an automatically adapted dinner.

Settle breakfast independently and ask which meal services operate on your dates. Our suggestion is to reserve the special dinner on an evening when you can return without rushing, leaving other meals flexible around your plans.

Food basis: an operator-described advance adaptation offer within mixed dining. The current courses and breakfast are not personally confirmed.

Stay 02 · Platform-listed vegan breakfast · exact property match

Wake BioHotel, a Member of Design Hotels

Location: Calle 2 Sur #25-115, El Poblado
Best fit: travellers comparing a design-led hotel with breakfast arranged in advance

The matched Booking.com listing includes vegan breakfast among its dietary categories. Design Hotels' official property page confirms Wake BioHotel's identity, address and Silo restaurant, but the accessible description does not provide an itemised vegan menu. The platform category is the specific food evidence used here. [M3] [M4]

Ask for a breakfast example that includes a filling savoury component, suitable bread or another accompaniment, and a plant drink. Establish whether it is included in the rate you are considering and whether alternatives need advance preparation. Ask separately which substantial vegan dishes Silo can offer for another meal.

Match the property name carefully: this button is for Wake BioHotel, not a different accommodation using the Wake name. Confirm the address and room product before comparing offers. [M3]

Our suggested approach is to assess the room, food and optional facilities separately. Do not assume that every experience advertised by a hotel is part of a standard overnight rate. This guide does not evaluate therapeutic claims or promise health benefits from a stay.

Food basis: indexed Booking.com vegan-breakfast information. A detailed current vegan meal plan and its inclusions still need hotel confirmation.

Stay 03 · Platform-listed vegan restaurant options

Café Hotel Medellín

Location: Carrera 31A #11-03, El Poblado
Best fit: another hotel base with restaurant dishes agreed before arrival

Booking.com's Café Hotel entry lists vegan dietary options at the venue it calls Coffe Club. The operator uses the name Cofy Club and confirms the hotel's restaurant and address. Neither source reviewed here establishes an entirely vegan hotel or supplies a complete, current vegan menu. [M5] [M6]

Use the restaurant category to start a specific enquiry: which main course can the kitchen prepare without dairy, eggs, honey or animal stock, and what are its accompaniments? Ask which venue and menu are current, rather than assuming different names in platform and operator descriptions refer to separate vegan restaurants.

Breakfast is a separate question. The platform describes a buffet, but the vegan restaurant label does not establish its exact vegan breakfast selection. Request the morning dishes, advance notice and inclusion under your chosen rate. [M5]

For a short city visit, our suggestion is to agree one dependable hotel meal and compare room categories on the space and sleeping arrangements you need. Check the timing of a late dinner independently of reception hours; a confirmed room is not a promise that the kitchen will still be serving.

Food basis: platform-listed vegan restaurant options at a matched hotel. No guaranteed vegan breakfast or all-day meal package is claimed.

What to ask before booking a vegan-friendly stay

Agree the preparation and the rate

Request a complete breakfast and a substantial main, not just confirmation that vegetables are available. Specify no meat, fish, seafood, animal stock, dairy, butter, eggs or honey.

Ask about sauces, cooking fats and garnishes. Record any substitutions, advance notice and supplements. Where a menu needs adaptation, obtain the adapted dish description rather than relying on the original name.

A message for the hotel

We eat vegan. Please describe a complete breakfast and main course for our dates, without dairy, eggs, honey or animal stock. Which ingredients need to be changed? Please confirm advance notice, the serving venue and whether these meals are included in our selected room rate.

A city stay with fewer meal uncertainties

Our suggested starting point is one hotel base, an agreed first breakfast and one reliable dinner. Keep some meals flexible so that an included hotel package does not determine every outing. When comparing offers, put the room total, food, transport arrangements and cancellation conditions side by side.

For an early excursion, request the actual food and collection time before arrival. For an evening meal, confirm the kitchen's service rather than only the building's opening hours. This guide does not verify transport schedules, airport journey times, attraction access or live room availability.

Vegan-friendly hotels in Medellín: FAQ

Are any of these three hotels entirely vegan?

No whole-property vegan status was established. The selection contains a hotel with an operator adaptation offer, one with platform-listed vegan breakfast and another with platform-listed restaurant options.

Can Binn arrange a vegan tasting menu?

The operator publishes an advance-request adaptation offer. Ask for the agreed courses and required lead time, and do not mistake the standard preparations for their vegan versions. [M1]

Does Wake BioHotel offer vegan breakfast?

Booking.com includes it among the property's breakfast categories. Confirm the actual dishes and your selected rate; this is platform information, not a meal agreement from the kitchen. [M3]

Is Café Hotel's whole breakfast buffet vegan?

That was not established. The vegan evidence concerns a platform restaurant category, while breakfast is described as a buffet. Ask about breakfast separately rather than extending the restaurant label to every service. [M5]

Do the hotels cover different Medellín neighbourhoods?

This shortlist focuses on El Poblado. The properties have different addresses, so compare the location against your actual plans rather than treating the neighbourhood name as a guarantee of walking distance. [M1] [M4] [M6]

Do the Booking.com links include the vegan dinner?

No such package is guaranteed by these links. They lead to matched hotel listings through our affiliate link. Read the rate and arrange restaurant reservations and dietary adaptations separately.
