Bahamas hotel guide · Research checked 16 September 2026
Looking for vegan-friendly hotels in the Bahamas? This guide compares four different ways to stay: a Nassau resort with named vegan dishes, an adults-only all-inclusive, a suite at Atlantis and a beach lodge on Andros. The useful distinction is not how many restaurants a hotel advertises, but what you can actually order and which meals need arranging before arrival.
Which Bahamas stay fits your food plans?
Compare Grand Hyatt Baha Mar for published restaurant choices, Sandals Royal Bahamian for a couples-focused all-inclusive, The Cove at Atlantis for a suite with advance dietary planning, and Small Hope Bay Lodge for a smaller Andros stay. Their different food arrangements are explained below; this is a shortlist by trip style, not a quality ranking.

Small Hope Bay Lodge links to its own website because a matching Booking.com listing was not established in this research.
Four vegan-friendly stays at a glance
Choose the setting before the room
Nassau and Paradise Island
Grand Hyatt Baha Mar and Sandals Royal Bahamian are Nassau options. The Cove belongs to Atlantis on Paradise Island. These are three distinct resort environments, not interchangeable hotel wings. Our suggestion is to decide how much of your day you want to spend within the property before comparing rooms. [1] [4] [6]
Andros
Small Hope Bay Lodge offers a different format: beachfront cabins rather than a large resort tower. Its location on Andros needs its own travel plan. Confirm the island connection and arrival arrangements before buying non-refundable accommodation; do not treat it as another Nassau address. [8] [9]
Vegan-friendly hotels and resorts in the Bahamas
Stay 01 · Published vegan dishes · Mixed resort dining
Grand Hyatt Baha Mar
Location: 1 Baha Mar Boulevard, Nassau, New Providence
Consider it for: a resort stay with specific restaurant choices to plan around
Grand Hyatt's dining directory places Shuang Ba within its resort setting and lists Leola among the wider Baha Mar choices. For a vegan evening, those venues provide more useful starting points than the resort's total restaurant count. [1]
Shuang Ba's operator-linked menu marks Vegetable Shao Mai, Crispy Vegetable Spring Roll and Mix Vegetable Fried Rice with its vegan symbol. The hot-and-sour soup also has a vegan version. Its vegetarian symbol is separate: a vegetable noodle dish should not be assumed vegan simply because it contains no visible meat. The PDF filename refers to 2024, although the restaurant still linked it when checked; confirm the dishes rather than relying on old prices. [2]
Leola's own FAQ offers vegan adaptations and asks guests to flag their needs when reserving and again on arrival. It serves dinner, so this does not answer the breakfast question. [3]
Our suggested approach is to choose one confirmed dinner for your arrival night, then organise breakfast separately. Ask for the venue, suitable dishes and whether your selected room offer covers them. Do not buy a dining credit or breakfast supplement until you know where it can be used.
Stay 02 · Adults-only all-inclusive · Vegan meal planning
Sandals Royal Bahamian
Location: West Bay Street, Nassau, New Providence
Consider it for: a couples' holiday with meals included and dietary planning on site
Sandals Royal Bahamian is an adults-only resort designed for couples. Its published inclusions cover breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks, with ten restaurants and two food trucks. This offers a different budgeting model from simply booking a room and adding restaurant meals. The dining is mixed, however, not exclusively plant-based. [4]
The property's restaurant page identifies a Culinary Concierge Desk for dietary requests. Sandals' wider dining policy explicitly includes vegan diets among the requirements its chefs and culinary concierges can accommodate through custom menus. That is a documented service policy, not an itemised vegan menu for every restaurant. [5]
For a longer stay, our suggestion is to ask for a rotation of substantial mains rather than one suitable dish repeated each evening. Give the team your breakfast preferences, discuss the restaurants you would like to use and check how to communicate requests between venues. Include sauces, stock, bread and desserts in the conversation.
Compare the actual room categories after the food plan is clear. A swim-up or butler suite is a separate choice from the vegan meal request; do not assume an upgrade is necessary to ask about dietary needs. Review optional paid experiences separately from the included dining.
Stay 03 · Paradise Island suites · Prior dietary notice
The Cove at Atlantis
Location: Atlantis, Paradise Island
Consider it for: a suite-based resort stay with meals organised in advance
The Cove is Atlantis' suite accommodation between two beaches, with ocean-view suites and a contemporary resort setting. This profile concerns The Cove at Atlantis on Paradise Island; check that exact property name when comparing offers. Suite category and optional privileges deserve their own review rather than being inferred from a promotional photograph. [6]
Atlantis' dining FAQ explicitly offers help with vegan meals after prior notice. Its dietary-planning guidance asks guests to contact the Chefs' Office at least two weeks before arrival. The published contact is +1 242-363-3000, extensions 66540 or 66541, Monday to Friday. Restaurant reservations are a separate recommended step. [7]
Our suggestion is to send a simple meal outline: the breakfast you need, the dinners you expect to eat at the resort and any early departure. Ask the culinary team which venues can fulfil it, then reserve those venues. A note on an accommodation booking is less useful than a named restaurant and an agreed meal.
Keep the room price and food budget separate while comparing rates. Do not assume that the word “resort” means unlimited dining is included. For a short visit, confirming a reliable breakfast and your first evening meal may be more practical than planning every restaurant in the complex.
Stay 04 · Andros beach lodge · Advance vegan requests
Small Hope Bay Lodge
Location: Small Hope Bay, Andros Island
Consider it for: a smaller, family-friendly stay with beachfront cabins
Small Hope Bay Lodge combines beach accommodation with a more informal island setting. Its published all-inclusive offer covers meals and drinks, and the lodge welcomes families. Kayaks, bicycles and paddleboards are among the listed inclusions, making it a different proposition from a large Nassau resort. [8] [9]
The lodge's dining page explicitly says it can accommodate vegan diets with advance notice. The regular menus are mixed, with buffet lunches and dinners and conventional breakfast dishes. Treat the dietary arrangement as something to agree with the kitchen, not as a promise that every buffet item is suitable. [8]
For several nights, our suggestion is to request a complete breakfast and a few different mains before confirming the cabin. Ask what happens on an excursion day and whether an early meal or takeaway can be arranged. On a lodge-focused trip, the food you can reliably eat on site matters more than a long generic list of facilities.
Vegan breakfast and all-inclusive meals
Ask about breakfast independently from dinner. A restaurant that adapts a pasta dish does not establish what is available at the morning buffet. At Baha Mar, for example, Leola's vegan accommodation policy concerns a dinner restaurant. Atlantis separately reports plant milks at several venues, but that alone is not a complete breakfast. [3] [7]
Make the morning meal usable
Request a filling component, suitable bread and a plant drink, not only fruit. Ask about butter on toast, milk in porridge, eggs in baked goods and honey in toppings. Explain the ingredients you avoid rather than relying only on “vegetarian” or “dairy-free”.
Separate food choice from price
All-inclusive describes what the package pays for; it does not make every dish vegan. Compare the meals you can actually eat, the notice required and any optional supplements. A clear written meal proposal is more useful than an impressive restaurant count.
What to confirm before booking
Start with your dates and the correct island. Then establish the room category, meal inclusion and a realistic first-day food plan. For Andros, confirm the onward connection before committing to a non-refundable rate; for a resort stay, distinguish dining reservations from accommodation reservations.
Use a short request that the kitchen can answer concretely:
We eat vegan, without meat, fish, seafood, animal stock, dairy, butter, eggs or honey. Please describe a complete breakfast and two substantial main courses for our dates, including sauces and sides. Which venue serves them, what does our rate include, and how much notice do you need?
Keep the reply with your booking. Reconfirm the important arrangements shortly before travel, especially an arrival-night dinner or an early breakfast. This guide does not test live room inventory, transport schedules or a date-specific meal package. Dietary suitability is also separate from an allergy-safety assessment; discuss any allergy directly with the kitchen.
Vegan-friendly Bahamas hotels: FAQ
Are these four hotels completely vegan?
No. They have mixed dining with named vegan dishes or advance dietary arrangements. The guide does not certify entire kitchens, toiletries, room materials or all activities as vegan.
Which all-inclusive options are included?
Sandals Royal Bahamian and Small Hope Bay Lodge publish meal-inclusive offers. They serve different trip styles: an adults-only couples' resort and a family-friendly Andros lodge. Confirm the vegan dishes separately from the package inclusions. [4] [9]
Can I arrange vegan food at Atlantis?
Yes, Atlantis publishes a prior-notice offer. Its dietary guidance asks guests to contact the Chefs' Office at least two weeks before arrival. See The Cove profile for the contact details. [7]
Are there published vegan choices at Baha Mar?
Shuang Ba's linked menu identifies vegan dishes, while Leola explicitly offers vegan adaptations. Check the current menu and make a separate breakfast enquiry. [2] [3]
Can I stay at Small Hope Bay Lodge in September or October?
Its published FAQ lists a closure for both months. Confirm the operating dates directly before booking travel to Andros. [9]
Why is one hotel linked directly rather than through Booking.com?
A matching Booking.com page was established for the three large resorts, but not for Small Hope Bay Lodge. Its official website is linked instead; a generic search or an unrelated lodge is not substituted.
