Find your next vegan meal in Louisville

Five current stops for a fully vegan bakery, Sri Lankan curries, house-made tofu, brunch and vegan-friendly dinner — with vegan status stated carefully for each kitchen.

Louisville’s dedicated vegan restaurant landscape has changed: V-Grits closed its restaurant in December 2024 and Cosmic Bird’s brick-and-mortar closed in January 2025. This guide uses current 2026 businesses instead of repeating legacy lists.

A formerly all-vegan favorite that now requires dish-level checking

How to order vegan:Ask for the vegan version explicitly and confirm sauces, cheese and protein choice. The operator site still emphasizes plant-based food, but recent current listings report a mixed menu.

Vegan breakfast and brunch in Louisville

Current breakfast option

Shahar’s current listings show 9:00 am openings Friday through Sunday with breakfast-style vegan items still available, but the restaurant is now treated as a mixed menu.

Bakery rather than early breakfast

Half-Peach opens at noon Tuesday through Saturday, so it is better for lunch, sweets or a later cafe stop than an early breakfast.

Sri Mantra starts at noon, Heart & Soy at 11:00 am, and Mayan Cafe is an evening restaurant.

Plan your Louisville vegan food stops

Use Logan Street Market wisely

Sri Mantra is inside Logan Street Market and is fully vegan. Shahar is nearby on Logan Street but is a separate mixed-menu restaurant.

Read status labels carefully

Heart & Soy is vegetarian with vegan choices, Shahar is now mixed, and Mayan Cafe is an omnivorous restaurant with explicit vegan dishes.

Older lists may still show V-Grits or Cosmic Bird as active brick-and-mortar restaurants. Both closed those locations before this guide’s 2026 research date.
