Morocco city guide · research checked 12 September 2026
Looking for vegan hotels in Marrakech? A small medina riad with a thoughtful breakfast can be just as appealing as a garden resort with several restaurants. This guide compares Riad Dar Zaman, Riad Jardin Secret and Four Seasons Resort Marrakech: three different stays with published evidence of vegan food or vegan dietary accommodation, rather than an assumption based on a vegetarian dish or a luxury label.
Which Marrakech stay should you shortlist?
Dar Zaman is the clearest breakfast-led starting point, with plant-based choices and vegan meals on request. Jardin Secret suits a design-focused medina stay with vegan breakfast accommodation arranged when booking. Four Seasons is the larger resort alternative with expressly published vegan-menu availability. None is described here as a completely vegan property. [M1] [M4] [M6]
Disclosure: Booking.com buttons are affiliate links. A qualifying reservation may earn Vegan Lifestyle a commission at no extra cost to you. They do not confirm a particular room rate or vegan meal arrangement. For Jardin Secret, no matching Booking.com property was confidently established, so the button goes to the riad's official website instead.
Three stays, three different strengths
Where to stay: a medina base or room to unwind?
For a smaller medina stay
Dar Zaman lists its address in Sidi Ben Slimane; Jardin Secret is in the Dar el Bacha area at 43–46 Arset Aouzal. Both are medina properties, but they are not the same address or pickup point. Ask your host where a driver should stop, how to reach the entrance with luggage and which room best suits your access needs. [M1] [M4]
For gardens, pools and resort facilities
Four Seasons lists 1 Boulevard de la Menara and a 16-hectare garden setting. It offers a different balance from staying inside a small riad. Choose it when time at the accommodation is part of your trip, then map medina outings from the actual hotel rather than assuming a city-name search result means a room among the souks. [M7]
Vegan-friendly riads and hotels in Marrakech
Stay 01 · Vegan breakfast and meals on request
Riad Dar Zaman
Location: Sidi Ben Slimane, Marrakech medina
Best fit: a small guesthouse with specific plant-based breakfast choices
Dar Zaman describes daily plant-based breakfast options and vegan meals available on request. Its separate breakfast information gives practical examples: hummus, avocado, almond butter and a cooked pepper-and-tomato preparation. This is more useful than a generic promise that a kitchen can remove the meat. The ordinary breakfast also includes non-vegan items, so tell the team which version you need. [M1] [M2]
The four-bedroom property has a roof terrace and courtyard plunge pool. Its room descriptions distinguish first-floor rooms from a terrace-level room; some offer twin-bed configurations, while others do not. Check the actual room rather than assuming every category has the same layout or access. [M3] [M10]
For a food-focused break, enquire about a vegan cooking class as well as dinner. The riad says its small-group Moroccan classes can be adapted to vegan menus. Agree the dishes, date and cost separately; a class or evening meal should not be assumed to come with the room. [M1]
Our suggested approach is to arrange your arrival-night dinner and a substantial breakfast, then leave the other evenings flexible. Ask about plant milk, suitable breads and portions, especially when you want enough food before a long sightseeing day.
Stay 02 · Vegan breakfast accommodation · design-led riad
Riad Jardin Secret
Location: Dar el Bacha area, Marrakech medina
Best fit: travellers who value an intimate, art-focused setting over resort facilities
Jardin Secret's breakfast page expressly welcomes vegans, and its FAQ asks guests to mention dietary requirements when booking. Breakfast changes daily and is reserved for overnight guests. This is a riad stay with a food arrangement to discuss, not a public vegan café you can simply visit from another hotel. [M4] [M9]
The seven-room house has a pink rooftop and an artistic identity shaped by vintage objects and local craftsmanship. Its operator explicitly states that televisions and air conditioning are not available. The FAQ also confirms there is no on-site pool, gym or spa. Consider those practical limits before being persuaded by the décor alone. [M5] [M4]
Ask what your vegan breakfast will contain rather than treating every item on the general breakfast page as vegan. Establish whether your chosen rate includes it and discuss any early departure: the published ordinary service starts at 08:30. Lunch and dinner are separate questions; the breakfast statement does not establish full-board catering. [M9]
Official-site exception: a matching Booking.com listing was not confidently verified. Similar property names should not be treated as this seven-room riad.
Stay 03 · Published vegan menu options · garden resort
Four Seasons Resort Marrakech
Location: Boulevard de la Menara
Best fit: a larger resort stay with gardens, pools and a choice of dining venues
The resort's own sustainability page expressly lists vegan menu items. Its inclusion here rests on that food statement, not on inferring vegan suitability from an environmental claim or the Four Seasons name. The property continues to serve mixed diets. [M6]
Quattro provides breakfast service, Inara focuses on Moroccan food, and Azzera is a poolside venue. Use these names to direct your enquiry, but do not assume identical plant-based dishes are available in every restaurant. Ask Quattro for a complete vegan breakfast and discuss the meals you want elsewhere separately. [M8]
The resort offers rooms, suites and villa formats, together with gardens, a spa and a children's club. These make it worth comparing for a trip with more time on site. A private pool belongs to particular accommodation categories, not every room; match the photograph and facilities to the exact category in your quote. [M7]
For a family or mixed-diet group, agree suitable meals for each traveller before adding a breakfast or dining package. A useful reply names several dishes, their serving venues and any supplements. Then compare the total with how often you expect to leave the resort.
Make breakfast part of the booking decision
Ask for the whole meal
Start with a satisfying breakfast: a substantial savoury item, suitable bread or another filling accompaniment, and the drink you prefer. Check cooking fats, stock, sauces and toppings as well as the main ingredients. Ask about honey separately from dairy and eggs.
For these stays, distinguish an ordinary included breakfast from room service, a reserved dinner and a cooking class. Record the agreed food and any extra cost alongside the room category and cancellation terms.
A message for the host
We eat vegan, without meat, fish, seafood, animal stock, dairy, butter, eggs or honey. Please describe a complete breakfast and any dinner you can prepare for our dates. Which meals are included in our rate, when are they served, and how much notice do you need? Please confirm suitable bread, cooking fats and plant milk.
A relaxed plan for a Marrakech city break
Marrakech's tourism-office guide highlights the medina, Jemaa el-Fna, gardens and cultural attractions. Our editorial suggestion is to group these into manageable outings rather than spend each day crossing between the hotel and unrelated sights. Choose a medina-focused day, a garden or museum day, and enough unscheduled time to enjoy your accommodation. [M11]
On arrival, keep the first evening simple: settle into the room and use a pre-arranged meal when that suits your travel time. On a fuller sightseeing day, prioritise breakfast over a dinner package that might dictate when you return. At a resort, deliberately leave time for the facilities that justified your choice.
These are planning suggestions, not confirmed excursions or transfer services. Check attraction access, transport and any early-breakfast arrangement separately. For a contrasting Moroccan city stay, continue with our Casablanca hotel guide.
Vegan hotels in Marrakech: FAQ
Are these three properties entirely vegan?
No. Their published information supports vegan food or vegan dietary accommodation, not whole-property vegan status. Rooms, furnishings, toiletries and every restaurant dish have not been certified vegan by this guide.
Which riad publishes concrete vegan breakfast choices?
Dar Zaman lists plant-based choices and vegan meals on request. Its breakfast information provides examples beyond fruit alone. Confirm the selection for your dates rather than expecting a fixed menu. [M1] [M2]
Can non-residents visit Jardin Secret for breakfast?
The riad says breakfast is exclusively for overnight guests, and its FAQ limits access to residents. Arrange a stay rather than treating the rooftop as a walk-in café. [M9]
Does Jardin Secret have air conditioning or a pool?
No, according to the operator pages checked. The house also does not offer an on-site gym or spa. These are important differences from the resort alternative. [M4] [M5]
Does Four Seasons' vegan statement include breakfast automatically?
No. It confirms that vegan menu items are available, not the inclusions of every rate. Request breakfast dishes, the serving venue and any charges separately. [M6]
Is a vegan cooking class included at Dar Zaman?
The operator offers classes that can be adapted to vegan menus, but this guide does not establish that a class is included in a room booking. Reserve the activity and agree its cost separately. [M1]
